MARCH Book Bonanza

March is here. I can see and smell spring all around me. My favourite time of the year is here. After weeks of cold, rain and wind, we are finally looking around and seeing first signs of spring. Blossoming flowers in the most beautiful vibrant colours. Trees with gorgeous green leaves are getting fuller and fuller after being stripped for the winter. People are more smiling. Animals are happier. Not the mention, that fashion is spring is the most inventive and we can look forward to some great designs.

With that in mind, authors are also finding more inspiration and we can look forward to some great books this year. I am preparing THE MOST ANTICIPATED BOOKS OF 2014 so you should be able to read about it soon.

In the meantime, I have been a busy bee (before being struck with a flu) and purchased some new books for my brand new library. And of course, I need to share my findings with you!

MARCH BOOK BONANZA

The New Books in my library :

UNSTICKY by Sarra Manning

State Of Grace
Money makes the world go round - that's what twenty-something Grace Reeves is learning. Stuck in a grind where everyone's ahead apart from her, she's partied out, disillusioned, and massively in debt. If she's dumped by another rock-band wannabe, squashed by anyone else at her cut-throat fashion job, or chased by any more bailiffs, Grace suspects she'll fall apart...

Grace Under Pressure
So when older, sexy, and above all, wealthy art-dealer Vaughn appears, she's intrigued against her will. Could she handle being a sugar daddy's arm-candy?

Saving Grace
Soon Grace is thrown into a world of money and  privilege, at Vaughn's beck and call in return for thousands of pounds in luxurious gifts, priceless clothes - and cash. She's out of her depth. Where's the line between acting the trophy girlfriend, and selling yourself for money? And, more importantly, whatever happened to love?

JUST A GIRL STANDING IN FRONT OF A BOY by Lucy-Anne Holmes

'My love story may not be the sort you read about in books or see in films. Love stories have glorious highs and ghastly lows. But when it comes to my own life, I'd have to say, you can keep your fabulous highs and i'll happily steer clear of the terrible lows.'

After a rocky start in life, Jenny Taylor, twenty-seven, star receptionist at the local doctor's surgery, has things all worked out thanks to a list of ten things she must do every day to keep the blues at bay. But her life is turned upside down when she meets aspiring musician Joe King. And reliable boyfriend Matt proposes. And then her mum leaves her dad and moves into Jenny's flat, determined to bond.

STARCROSSED by Josephine Angelini

When shy, awkward Helen Hamilton meets Lucas Delos for the first time, she thinks two things: the first, that he is the most ridiculously beautiful boy she has seen in her life, second, that she wants to kill him with her bare hands.

An ancient curse means Lucas and Helen are destined to loathe one another. But sometimes love is stronger than hate, and not even the gods themselves can prevent what will happen next...

BLOOD RED ROAD by Moira Young

In the Dustlands, you fight or you die.

There are no laws in Saba's world. When her twin brother is stolen, she pursues his captors through a wild, wasted land. She must become a warrior to survive. On this dangerous road she can trust no one. Not even the handsome thief who saves her life - and steals her heart.

WITCH FINDER by Ruth Warburton

Sworn to a loveless marriage. Sworn to avenge the death of a parent. Sworn to kill the one you love...

London 1880

Witches killed Luke Lexton's parents and he is determined to avenge their death by becoming a Witch Hunter. But first he must prove his loyalty and pick a name from the Book of Witches to track down and kill within a month or face death himself. Luke picks Rosa Greenwood, a young witch-girl who is almost impossible to kill.

A NEW YORK WINTER'S TALE by Mark Helprin

One night in New York, a city under siege by snow, Peter Lake attempts to rob a fortress-like mansion on the Upper West Side. Though he thinks it is empty, the daughter of the house is home...
Thus begins the affair between this Irish burglar and Beverly Penn, a young girl dying of consumption. It is a love so powerful that Peter will be driven to stop time and bring back the dead, A New York Winter's Tale is the story of that extraordinary journey.

VAMPIRE ACADEMY by Richelle Mead

Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with an unbreakable bond to the earth's magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi, the fiercest and most dangerous vampires - the ones who never die.

The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa's best friend, makes her a Dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making her one of them.

After two years of illicit freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir's Academy, hidden in the deep forests of Montana. Rose will continue her Dhampir education. Lissa will go back to being Queen of the elite Moroi social scene. And both girls will resume breaking Academy hearts.

Fear made Lissa and Rose run away from St. Vladimir's - inside the Academy's iron gates, their world is even more fraught with danger. Here, the cutthroat ranks

THE MONSTRUMOLOGIST by Rick Yancey

Will Henry is the orphan apprentice of a doctor with an unusual speciality: montrumology, the study of monsters. When a midnight visitor brings them the body of a young girl entwined with the corpse of an Anthropophagus, it is the start of the most mysterious case of Will Henry's life. Anthropophagi are headless monsters whose razor-sharp teeth are in their stomachs - and they are supposed to be extinct in this part of the world. Now Will and the monstrumologist are in a race against time to put a stop to the plague of monsters before they kill again.
