Playlist Of The Week - RUN4LIFE 4

I have been so so SO lazy recently. More than lazy. My goal to go to the gym at least 3 times a week went out the window. I have been enjoying the sunshine instead, but the result is that my toned body I have been working on for such a long time is losing its shape I have achieved. Disaster!! I can see my dream body slipping through my fingers.
Enough laziness!! It's time to get back on treadmill! It's time to enlist my name on some pilates and yoga classes and get back into shape. My holiday is round the corner. Only 6 weeks left!!! I want to feel confident in my own body!

So therefore for next 6 weeks my plan is healthy diet and strict exercise regime. And to help me to get my bum into gym I have created a new playlist. I had to think about my routine because for my cardio workout I prefer something from the dance scene and for my pilates and muscle toning something relaxing.

So here is my new baby, RUN4LIFE version number 4:

  • "SUMMERTIME" by Will Smith
  • "MIDNIGHT CITY" by M83
  • "I'M NOT GIVING IN" by Rudimental feat. John Newman & Alex Clare (Huxley Remix)
  • "SO GOOD TO ME" by Chris Malinchak (Ministry Of Sound Remix)
  • "A LITTLE PARTY NEVER KILLED NOBODY (ALL WE GOT) by Fergie, Q-Tip & GoonRock
  • "DEFAULT" by Django Django
  • "AMSTERDAM" by Imagine Dragons
  • "NEVER LET ME GO" by Florence + The Machine
  • "YOUNG & BEAUTIFUL" by Lana Del Rey
  • "SUPPOSED TO BE" by Tom Odell

This playlist should last about 45 mins (approx. time of my daily workout routine designed especially for me and my busy lifestyle). I think everybody can spare 45 of their time of the day. At the end we will only benefit from it.

Let me know what you think about the playlist, any suggestions are welcome. Tell me what song makes you to get your arse on the treadmill? Which tune increases your energy levels? Which track makes you dance around your living room or bedroom? I always appreciate new music tips.

Have a great workout :)

And remember: "Sweat is the fat crying :)"

Song Of The Week

I must make a confession... I like trashy TV shows. And to be honest I am not ashamed of it. Teenage dramas, comedy shows, scripted reality shows.. I like them all. My favourite "scripted reality show", that's how the BAFTA calls them, is Made In Chelsea. Every monday evening, if possible, I sit down in front of my TV and watch these London based privileged people and their drama.

Not sure myself why I like it so much?!? There are various answers to this question. High-end glamour? Amazing fashion? Silly drama stories? Love triangle every season? Or is it simple because of the true fact that this show has one amazing soundtrack. It is actually the best soundtrack on our TV screens!

Made In Chelsea is packed with songs by famous or upcoming artists. The tracks included on this show were written by big names on music scene like : M83, Imagine Dragons, Ra Ra Riot, Two Door Cinema Club, Jack White, Bastille, The National, Palma Violets, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Miles Kane, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Foals, The Strokes, Daughter, Alt-J, Young Kato, Atoms For Peace and many many more. The list is endless.

I found 3 various playlists on @SpotifyUK. The most recent one is from the 5th season and it is actually officially agreed by E4. The truth is that to be selected to have a track playing on this TV show, helped many artist to be introduced to the world. I,  personally, discovered many musicians and bands I would not listened to before and this show showed how amazing their tracks are.

I absolutely love the fact that the list of the featured musicians included big and established names on the music scene, but it also give equal opportunity for the new talent. Look at Young Kato! Thanks to MIC their fan based increased literally overnight!! And there are more artists like Young Kato. Through the 5 seasons we have had the opportunity to listen to and discover some really good music.

I have been thinking about the soundtrack on this BAFTA-winning reality show for quite a while. And therefore I have decided to make The Song Of The Week the main tune from the show which we all grow to love so much. So here it is:

Song Of The Week:

"Midnight City" by M83

The track is from the album  HURRY UP WE'RE DREAMING.
Thanks to this tune I have recently downloaded the full album and became a fan of this electronic band.

Enjoy!! :)

Fashion Icon Of The Month: ALEXA CHUNG

It is the time of the month to introduce you to another fashion icon of mine. I have been admiring this gorgeous lady for some time. Actually, since I have moved to UK and for the first time turned on the TV and Channel4. At that time I have only known her as a presenter for T4 (kids and teenage program for the youngsters). But I have soon realise what an incredible Style Icon she is. By now you all know who I am talking about. Yes, The Fashion Icon For The Month Of May is ALEXA CHUNG.

Alexa was born on cold day on November 5th 1983 in Privett, Hampshire in UK. So there is a first reason why I love her. She is British. And you all know how much love I have for everything British. She has a mixture of English and Chinese genes. Hello, that's already a killing combo which can guarantee you some great things in the future.

She started her career at the age of 16 when she was scouted by a modelling agency at Reading festival. And no wonder they have been impressed with her. This girl is 5ft 8.5 in tall, has gorgeous features, green eyes and brown hair. She is beautiful and has a great smile. She landed jobs for ElleGirl, CosmoGIRL!, Fanta, Sunsilk, Sony Ericsson and my favourite Urban Outfitters. She has also appeared in couple of music videos. She is one lucky girl!!!

At then her career went even bigger. Alexa became a household name at big fashion shows. She walked the show for big names in fashion world including Vivienne Westwood's show. She became a face of various brands which include Antipodium, New Look, DKNY, Pepe Jeans, Lacoste and recently Vero Mode and Mulberry

But she didn't only took over the catwalks. She took over our TV screens too. She became a host for Popworld and later on landed a lucrative contract with Channel 4. She became one of the most popular presenter of our screens and was awarded with Elle Style Award "Best TV Presenter" and Glamour's "Best TV Presenter" for 2009. In same year she also received Glamour's "Annual Award".

And then she decided to leave our TV screen and pursue the Stateside. She moved to USA in April 2009 and landed her own show on MTV "It's on with Alexa Chung". The show was cancelled later on the year but Alexa wasn't jobless. She returned to UK to present another series of Frock Me with Henry Holland, Gonzo with Alexa Chung and she even presented "2011 Golden Globe Arrivals Special" with Carlson Daly. Since that she landed a job as a host and judge on US programme 24 Hour Catwalk and she is co-hosting a night show Fuse News

But Alexa is not only pretty face. She is a great journalist too. She used to be a columnist for my favourite magazine "COMPANY", she wrote a weekly columm for "The Independent" and she has also been made a contributing editor for "British Vogue".

And no wonder!! Alexa and her style has been a talk of the decade between big designers. She is a muse for many of them thanks to her distinctive personal style. She has a permanent place on most Best Dressed lists. Anna Wintour, Vogue's fashion editor, has called her "A Phenomenom", Karl Lagerfeld has described her as "Beautiful and clever... a modern girl" and the New York Times declared her "The Kate Moss of New Generation". In December 2010, Bryan Ferry, on the behalf of British Fashion Council, presented Alexa with the British Style Award which "recognises an individual who embodies the spirit of British Fashion and is an international ambassador for the UK as a leading creative hub for fashion". She has received her reward at the posh London hotel SAVOY.

And she continue to charm us with her style even these days. She has been voted by public and won the British Style Award 3 years in a row (2011, 2012, 2013).

And no wonder, Alexa's style is very British. Every girl in Britain wants to look like her and wants to be like her. She has a great style which inspires me in everyday life. She is a real role model. Hardworking. Intelligent. Great career. British. An Amazing Style. Cool. Fashionable. Beautiful. She knows how to mix designer labels and vintage pieces and always ends up looking absolutely stunning. Effortless. Modern.

I wish she would be my friend.

I am sure we can expect even more greater things from her in the future. Alexa Chung is taking the world by storm. And soon we can even expect even a book written by Ms Chung. And I hope it will be a fashion book.

STAR TREK : INTO DARKNESS (directed by J. J. ABRAMS)

Oh yes!! The wait is over!!!! Four years we had to wait for this. But finally it is here! The new STAR TREK  movie subtitled with                              INTO DARKNESS

I have fallen in love with the first one back in 2009. I personally think that is was the best movie of the that year and I am sure not to be the only one. J.J. ABRAMS brought a brand new version of well known and adored by millions series, onto the big screens. He did a fantastic job. The movie was a box office hit. Fans of the series all over the world said praises and even the ones who never watched the series before, absolutely loved the movie. So the bar was set high and a question on everyone's mind was: "Can he do it again?"

Oh hell yeah!!! He has done his magic and brought us another ,EVEN BETTER, sequel.

I went to see it last week. The second day it has been out in the pictures. I was so excited but worried at the same time. Sequels aren't usually that great. Well apart from Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes and all the Marvel's movies.

But this movie was mind-blowing. I was sat in the cinema, watching the movie tightly ripping the seat. All the way through I was scared to blink just in case I would miss some important part of the story which I would regret later. It was fast paced. Kept me on my toes all the way through. The twists and turns in the story kept coming. Just when you thought you had it all figured out, another twist was produced. This made the movie amazing to watch. If someone says that it was boring, they are wrong. You could not ask for more action. More excitement. More typical Star Trek story.

The special effects were absolutely spot on. Incredibly good. I went to watch it 2D but I have still enjoyed the wonderful world JJ Abrams created in full. Sometimes I wonder how can someone have such a great and big imagination. But he did very good job.

I have loved performances of all the actors. The old crew and the newcomers as well. I think CHRIS PINE is one hot, sexy, crazy, adventure-hunting, funny, full of life and energy Captain Kirk. ZACHARY QUINTO is a hell of a good Spock. I love his version of Spock. He is wonderful. Calm. Over-thinking. Don't do well with emotions Spock. ZOE SALDANA is a his great and sexy better half Uhura. I liked that we could see how feisty she can be. Her Klingon was smooth. Go girl. And I cannot forget to mention SIMON PEGG as Scotty. He is the funniest man I know. I always enjoy his movies but he is such a great Scotty. Without him Star Trek wouldn't be the same.

Now,  I think the main stage and the most respect in this movie goes to the new-comer badass BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH. He was such a great villain. I so wanted him to be good, but he turned out to be the worst person in the world. Heartless. Killer. Manipulative asshole. What an incredible performance. I have truly enjoyed his villain on the big screen. They couldn't pick a better one.

I have gone through so many emotions while watching this movie. Laugh. Anger. Sadness. Annoyance. Thrill for adventure. Scare. It was a wild ride with a good ending. I am so recommending this movie to everybody. Go and watch it. It is enchanting. It will have you fix into your seats from the beginning till the end.

JJ ABRAMS what a great job you have done. I cannot wait for this movie to come out on DVD so I can add it to my DVD collection.

Watch the trailer for this incredible movie below:

WARM BODIES directed by JONATHAN LEVINE

So, it's a Saturday night. I am single. I am a geek and there is no night out planned in my diary. All my housemates are in bed sleeping and I am wide awake.  So I have decided to checkout the movie WARM BODIES. I wanted to this for a while so tonight seemed like a good opportunity.

You all read my review of the book and you all know how surprised I was when I found out how good this book actually is. So there is no surprise that I have decided to see for myself if the movie is any good as well. The trailer, I must say,  put me and my friends off from watching it. It is a bit too cheesy. I think that is the main reason I have not pressed my friends to go to the pictures to watch it.

So here I am on Saturday night finding myself watching this movie online. And I must say I have enjoyed myself very much.

This movie came out to cinemas earlier this year. It has been written and directed by Jonathan Levine. He also directed a movie starring Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Hewitt 50/50. And that is a proof that this movie has a solid base. To this magical mixture we can add an awesome performance of two young upcoming stars - Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer and we have a fun movie about zombies.

Firstly let me mention the soundtrack. It is absolutely fantastic. The track list includes names like Bob Dylan, M83, Bruce Springsteen, Guns'N'Roses, The National... I don't need to mention all of them. It is a pure genius and it works wonderfully with the movie. Well done to the soundtrack team.

Secondly let me mention Nicholas Hoult and his performance as R. Hot. Sexy. Dark. Mysterious. Weird. Zombie-like. Sweet. Funny. Exactly how R should be and how I have imagined him in my head. I love his inside dialogues with himself. What a great performance. Teresa Palmer is a great Julie. She is strong. Independent. Sweet. Open-minded. Full of life. She is exactly the Julie R falls for in the book. I think they have an amazing chemistry.

The whole story went through little changes, but I actually liked them. The story is easy to follow and flows very well. You know where you are and you can kinda guess what will happen. But it is a nice movie. No brainer. Easy to watch. Very funny. The dialogues and the scene are wonderfully made and give the book what it deserves. Shame that you cannot get some of the great opinions which were touched in the book. That is my only reserve.

But other than that I must say that this is the first zombie movie I have truly enjoyed. It is a romantic comedy which even guys can go and see without them moping that it's a girlie film. It is mostly directed towards the younger generation but I think anyone can enjoy it.

Saturday night well spent!

Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think if you decide to watch this movie:

IRONMAN 3 (directed by SHANE BLACK)

I am not sure if you have realised this before my lovelies, but I am a true geek! I know what a surprise! Maybe you got the hint because of  the number and genre of the books I read. Maybe, it is because I am a big gadget fan. Maybe, it's because I am obsessed with fantasy and sic-fi.. who knows?! Anyways, as a true geek I love super-hero movies! Actually, Marvel Studios are my favourite. So it cannot come to you as a surprise that as soon as I have been given the chance I have decided to go and watch the new Marvel baby - IRONMAN 3:) And I splash out and even went to watch it 3D (not that I would not always pick 3D option where is possible - I am a true geek at the end!)

Anyways, so on wednesday night, after a long, very long and boring day at work, through whole I was in incredibly bad mood, I begged one of my friends at work to go and  watch with me this new film. So after some fine dining and a quick stroll around Trinity shopping centre, we sat down on our seat at THE LEEDS LIGHT VUE CINEMA, put on our 3D glasses and let ourselves enjoy the experience.

I have seen both previous movies. Actually I have seen all Marvel movies - sad I know but I enjoy it. So as you can imagine I was very excited about this one. IronMan movies are my favourite. And I think Robert Downey Jr. is the perfect IronMan. But I wondered if they keep the high standard of the previous 2 films.

AND THEY DID!!! It was absolutely epic! Fantastic! Incredible! Everything was just perfect.

The special effects were spot on. The 3D effect was greatly done.  There were scenes in this movie which looked absolutely fantastic in 3D. I love the scene where all the IronMan suits, which Tony Stark created, came to help him. What an incredible scene. And what an effort must have gone to it to create all the suits and bring them to life. Well done. Great job Tech guys!

The story line was exciting. There were twists and turns I did not expect. Like that Pepper would get actually injected and nearly turned into a full hot body monster. Although it saved her life at the end. I was also very surprised when Tony Stark got her little thing which was keeping him alive up until now removed. What does that mean? Will he not be in another Avengers movie? If that is the is the case, I am very disappointed. Who else would be so arrogant and sarcastic with a great sense of humour like Tony Stark?!?! There is a big place to fill .. And I am not sure which super-hero can do the job.

Robert Downey Jr. was, as always, absolutely fantastic. I cannot imagine someone else who could breathe a life to Tony Stark's character like he does. He is one of my favourite actors. I love him even as Sherlock Holmes. He is a very talented actor who gives his characters a piece of him. He personalise them to suit him and I very much enjoy it.

Gwyneth Paltrow was beautiful as usual. I love her character. I love that Pepper got a little more into the proper action then usually. She is mostly on the sidelines while Tony fights for the world. Gwyneth is a role model in life and on the screen. I wish I would look like her in that age. I have a lot of respect for her. Although maybe I would not pick the names for my children like she did.

The soundtrack was very interesting. There were some song choices I would never in my life expect in IronMan movie. You all know what am talking about  - Blue by Eiffel 65.. what an interesting choice. But other then that little surprise at the beginning the music choice fitted the set of the movie perfectly.

All in all I have absolutely loved this movie. I think they have ended the IronMan
Trilogy with a BANG. Definitely a DVD for my collection.

What did you think?

Check out the trailer below:

Song Of The Week

Here is another hit for the summertime which is hopefully coming soon. I have been introduced to this artist by my lovely housemate Claire who was listening to the remix of this song the other day. And I absolutely fell in love with it.

And I am not the only one. Just this morning Adele tweeted on her twitter account how much she loves this song.

So here it is The Song Of The Week:

CHRIS MALINCAK "So Good To Me"

I hope you will enjoy this lovely tune as much as I am enjoying it at the moment. I am sure that we can expect more chill-out tune from Chris in the future. I can see a great future ahead of him:)

Song Of The Week

So you all know how much I am looking forward to THE GREAT GATSBY film adaptation which is coming out next week. I have also written a massive praise about the soundtrack to this movie. As I said I think this is one of the best soundtracks I've heard in years.

So it can't be a surprise for you that I have picked one of the songs from this album as THE SONG OF THE WEEK. I usually don't listen to Will.I.Am. I only like him because he worked with Cheryl Cole. I know that he is a music genius, I am just not that crazy about his work

But the tune he wrote and done for The Great Gatsby is amazing. It makes me smile every time I listen to it and I just wanna drop everything and start to dance. I love the combo of popular modern dance music and 20s style mix in it.

So here is The Song Of The Week:

WILL.I.AM - BANG BANG

Please let me know what you think about this track. And do let me know how you like THE GREAT GATSBY if you are going to see it next week.

Book 5 of The Mortal Instruments: CITY OF LOST SOULS, Cassandra Clare

CITY OF LOST SOULS is the fifth book in The Mortal Instruments series and so far the last one. We have to wait a little bit longer, more than 365days, for the final book (or will it be the final?).  I have enjoyed this book very much because Cassandra concentrated more on the relationships within our characters.

So Let's recap the book first:

As we all know Ms Clare has left us hanging in the previous book. Our gorgeous boy Jace brought back to life the sly (and not at all loveable) Sebastian. And for the this, Sebastian pay him back in way I hated so much. He took the control over Jace. And both are now missing! Clary is on the edge of patience. She is not only been investigated by Clave but also the love of her life is nowhere to be found. And nobody knows what the hell is going on. She is so desperate that she even considers to ask for help of Seelie Queen! NO NO NO and NO!!! That is a bad idea! I don't know why but I have not warmed up to this character at all. Actually, the opposite has happened. I do not like her and do not trust her. She is up to something and I am sure she will betray our group of Shadow-hunters. Anyways, The Seelie Queen wants a payment for her help. What a surprise! And she asks for a pair of rings from The Institute. Clary, desperate for any kind of information, agrees and decides to steal the rings from The Institute. But she is interrupted by a surprise visitors - JACE & SEBASTIAN. And what is even stranger is the fact that  them two are behaving like two besties, brothers and like they actually like each other (it seems that Jace completely forgot what an asshole Sebastian is and Sebastian seems to be very forgiving for fact that Jace killed him - just a little thing ). The same night Jace and Sebastian visit Clary at Luke's apartment. Jace wants her to join them on some very mysterious quest. We also find out that Jace and Sebastian are bound to each other and if one dies, the other dies too. There is the plan to kill Sebastian out of the window! But everything goes even more awry when Jocelyn sees her son, who she hated since he was born, and there is a fight where Luke gets hurt. He is dying. Jace and Sebastian disappear like cowards (not a best moment of Jace's). So Luke is taken to his pack in abandoned police station. Nobody knows how to cure him. Not even our sparkly High Warlock of Brooklyn Magnus Bane. And that's when Jordan and Maia comes in. Jordan as a member of Praetor Lupus might be able to help to get some info from the vice-president / chief member of the clan. So him and Maia are on a journey to Road Island. They resolve their issues. Both of them realise that they are still in love with each other and get back together. And they even find the cure and save Luke's life. In the meantime, Clary decides to play a little bit of her own game. After an argument with Jocelyn, where Jocelyn is a little bit of a bitch and tells Clary that her and Jace are not meant to be, Clary develops a plan. She has the rings she stole from the Institute. She gives one to Simon and keeps the other one. She is going to go with Jace and find out what the hell is going on. Why is he acting so strange. And the rings serves like a communications with Simon. Basically they will keep in touch and exchange new found information.

Clary joins Jace and Sebastian and starts to live with them in this strange apartment which travels through dimensions. She finds out that the plan is to create new version of Mortal Cup which uses Demon Blood instead of Angel Blood and helps create new half demon version of Shadow-hunters. We also find out how is Sebastian able to keep control over Jace and why is Jace not the Jace we all love so much. He acts like him. He looks like him. He talks like him. But he is not Jace! He is some kind of a twisted version of Jace who doesn't care about the right. He is completely and utterly under Sebastian's control like a little bitch. Clary is of course desperate to save and bring back her Jace. She slowly gains the trust of Jace and Sebastian's and share adventures with them.

In the meantime the rest of the gang, well what's left from it - Simon, Isobel, Alec and Magnus are hard-working little bees. Isobel and Jocelyn visit the Silent Sisters to find out how they can break the bond between Jace and Sebastian. They found out that only Demon or Angel sword can do the trick. Magnus decides to raise a demon. Unfortunately, this demon is a little bit of an asshole. He doesn't want to help our friends but also he doesn't want to leave. At the end it's Simon and his Mark of Cain who kills the demon. And then Simon has an idea. He is cursed by the first mark so he is the only one who can raise an Angel and ask for help. So our group of four goes to Luke's farm and decide to raise our friend - Angel Raziel and ask him for help. And Simon is successful. Not only he gets Michael's Sword which is the only weapon which can be use to kill Sebastian without killing Jace, but also he gets rid of the Mark of Cain. Angel takes it back because Simon does not supposed to have it. We also witness some very intimate moments between him and Isobel. Them two are getting closer but Magnus and Alec are a different story. Alec is acting weird and is obsessed with the fact the Magnus is immortal and he is not. He has couple of secret meetings with Camille and he is playing her right in her hand. His insecurity causes a strain  in their relationship. And in the Shadow-hunters fashion, he is not talking to Magnus about it. He is talking to Camille!! Why are Shadowhunters so crappy with relationships and talking to their respective half??

Anyways, in the meantime, Clary dates Jace in Venice. She parties with him and Sebastian in Prague and nearly have sex with Jace in the middle of the club after she got high. Seriously, the girl is finally getting some experience apart from painting and reading comic books. And she is having some bonding time with Sebastian in Paris cafe. But she is still missing her Jace. But one night, after a mission, on which was Jace sent by Sebastian, he comes back as JACE!! HER JACE! He was sent to retrieve The New Mortal Cup and kill Magdalena who made it. In process she stabbed him with an angel knife and the Mark of Lilith which Sebastian uses to control Jace is disfigured. And he and Clary share a moment. But Jace stops them and wants to give himself to Clave for the sins, hurt and damage he caused. Clary desperate to save him, doesn't even listen to him when he says that he doesn't want to live under Sebastian's control. She screams for Sebastian and he takes back the control. Sebastian now fully trusts Clary and tells her the whole plan. He wants to kill every human, every shadow-hunter and he wants to take control over the world. BAD NEWS CLARY! YOUR BROTHER IS A TRUE PSYCHO!!

So after Clary learns the whole plan and re-discoveres her lost ring, she gets in touch with Simon and tells him what is going on. He fills her on the sword information but they are cut off short when Sebastian punches Clary. Them two start to fight with each other. REALLY FIGHT. There is blood and Sebastian even nearly rapes Clary. WTF!!! He is her brother. Seriously, there is something really wrong with that boy! He takes her to the side where is a big gathering of Shadow-hunters who swore loyalty to Valentine and now they are going to be on his side. He actually even kidnaps Amatis, Luke's sister, and turns her into Dark Shadow-hunter. But not everything is going according to his plan. Thanks to Simon, our good Shadow-hunters turn up at the meeting with some help and start fighting. Simon gets Clary the sword. She is all ready for killing Sebastian, but Jace is trying to stop her. And then she realises that there is only one thing she can do. She stabs Jace. Not because she does not love him, BECAUSE SHE LOVES HIM. She trusts Jace's good heart and that there is enough good in him, that the sword would not kill him. And she now realises that the true Jace would rather die that live on under Sebastian's influence and control. When she stabs him, she hears cries of Sebastian as he realises that they have been separated. And Jace burns. The sword burns inside him and burns away and he is sinks into the ground lifeless. Clary cries out. She is calling for him. She is pleading for him to come back and then there is heartbeat and Jace is alive

He is taken to back to The Institute where he has a heart-to-heart with Isobel and Alec. He heals from his injuries but there is a slight problem. When Clary visits him and they have their heart-to-heart, he keeps the distance from her. She doesn't understand why. Maybe he is angry with her because she nearly killed him? But that's not the case. Hell has not froze over so Jace could not stop loving Clary. He is just still carrying the fire from the sword inside him and he can't touch anybody because he would burned them. But Clary is different. He can touch her but there is still a possibility he could hurt her so they are taking things slow. When will them to get their moments of happiness?!? They will make a pack that they will find Sebastian and prevent anything he is planning. And they will kill him!

But not everybody gets their happy ending in this book. Magnus discovers what was Alec up to and breaks up with him saying he doesn't want to have anything to do with him or his friends. Alec is heartbroken and wants to kill Camille. But he is too late! Too late because somebody else has already done it. Maureen!! Yes the little bad vampire girl is back in town!! And not only that. On the floor of The Institute is a message left from Sebastian : "I'm coming."

What a great book! It was action packed. It had me on my tip toes all the way through and as usual Cassandra did a great job to keep me entertained from start to finish.

As I mentioned before I loved how this book paid attention not only to relationship between our main couple Clary and Jace but she also took the time with Magnus & Alec's relationship and the feelings developing between Simon and Isobel. I loved how we saw the tenderness and care shared between them two. I really hope that Isobel will get to be with Simon as he is the only one who actually got under her skin and inside her heart. I very much enjoyed the interaction between them too. I adore the chapter where Simon told her the Star Wars story and they spent the night together in purely non-sexual way.

I have also loved that Cassandra gave some alone time to Clary and Jace, although he was not really her Jace most of the time. At least they got to spend some time together. The sexual tension between them is so strong and unbearable at times. I just want them to be together properly because they didn't have much quality time together yet. I thought that maybe they will finally get to be together in Paris on the night when Jace got himself back but Jace being kind of a gentleman decided that it's not the right time. Because when they are together, he wants them to be the true Clary and true Jace. So so so sweet. And I even enjoyed the sweet moments where he reads to her. Cute overload!!

But my heart his broken a little bit. It is broken for Magnus and Alec. Them two just got to change their facebook status to IN RELATIONSHIP and Camille and her clever remarks to Alec caused them to break up at the end. I felt like we didn't get enough time for their relationship to develop further. Like somebody stole the moments from us. There must be some more to their story. I hope this is not final and Cassandra will get these six amazing people their happiness.

This book was again full of witty, very funny and very entertaining dialogues. This time I have enjoyed the return of Jace's sarcastic humour and arrogant, self-loving confidence. I laughed at so many of them. Partially our Jace was still there. In pieces. Mostly we could see it when he was with Clary. The fact that Clary is the love of his life will never change. He can be Jace under Sebastian's control but he will always love Clary in every version of him. And she will always love him. I so hope for their happy ending!!! Please Cassandra! Make it happen!

I have to say that I was glad that this story wasn't only about Jace and Clary and Sebastian. I am truly thankful that Simon and Alec and Isobel and Magnus had their fair share in this book and weren't left on the sidelines.

The writing was again excellent. Witty. Clever. Cassandra made me cry. She made me laugh. She made me think about things twice. I have loved every page of the book and there is many of quotes I will cherish forever.

And again, she made sure that I and the rest of the fans will definitely buy the next book and left some many unfinished stories which will conclude in the final book! Although which TMI fan would be so silly and wouldn't want to read the final chapter in our favourite gang's story? Only an idiot.

I cannot wait for the last book in this series. THE CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE is coming out MAY 2014. A Year to go people!

But at least we have the movie coming out on August 23rd and Cassandra co-operated with Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson and they brough us THE BANE CHRONICLES. And I have the copy of the first one WHAT REALLY HAPPENED IN PERU!

Here are some quotes from this book I have truly enjoyed :

"He'd burn the whole world down till he could dig you out of the ashes. I know," Alec said.”

“As far as I’m concerned, this is the worst thing that’s happened since I found out why Magnus was banned from Peru.”

“I stabbed you. With a massive sword. You caught on fire."
His lips twitched, almost imperceptibly. "Okay, so maybe our problems aren't like other couples.”

“He grinned. It was a wicked grin, the kind that made the blood in Clary's veins run a little faster. "You want to go on a date?"
Caught off guard, she stammered. "A wh-what?"
"A date," Jace repeated. "Often 'a boring thing you have to memorize in history class,' but in this case, 'an offering of an evening of blisteringly white-hot romance with yours truly."
"Really?" Clary was not sure what to make of this. "Blisteringly white-hot?"
"It's me," said Jace. "Watching me play Scrabble is enough to make most women swoon. Imagine if I actually put in some effort.”

“Do you remember,” he said, “when we first met and I told you I was ninety percent sure putting a rune on you wouldn’t kill you—and you slapped me in the face and told me it was for the other ten percent?” Clary nodded.
“I always figured a demon would kill me,” he said. “A rogue Downworlder. A battle. But I realized then that I just might die if I didn’t get to kiss you, and soon.” Clary licked her dry lips. “Well, you did,” she said. “Kiss me, I mean.”
He reached up and took a curl of her hair between his fingers. He was close enough that she could feel the warmth of his body, smell his soap and skin and hair.
“Not enough,” he said, letting her hair slip through his fingers. “If I kiss you all day every day for the rest of my life, it won’t be enough.”

“Does she still love you?"
"I don't think so," Magnus said dryly. "She wasn't very pleasant the last time I saw her. Of course, that could be because I've got an eighteen year-old boyfriend with a stamina rune and she doesn't."
Alec sputtered. "As the person being objectified, I ... object to that description of me.”

“Simon rolled his eyes. “It’s a good thing we know the person who’s dating Magnus Bane,” he said. “Otherwise, I get the feeling we’d all just lie around all the time wondering what the hell to do next. Or trying to raise the money to hire him by selling lemonade or something.”
Alec looked merely irritated by this comment. “The only way you could raise enough money to hire Magnus by selling lemonade is if you put meth in it.”

“How was the Seelie Queen?"
"Same as usual."
"Raging bitch, then?"
"Pretty much.”

“You may have the worst timing since Napoleon decided the dead of winter was the right moment to invade Russia.”

“Nerd love. It is a beautiful thing, while also being an object of mockery and hilarity for those of us who are more sophisticated.”

“Take off your shirt."
Jace raised his eyebrows.
"I'm not going to attack you," she said impatiently. "I can take the sight of your naked chest without swooning."
"Are you sure?" he asked, obediently sliding the shirt off his shoulders. "Because viewing my naked chest has caused many women to seriously injure themselves stampeding to get to me.”

"But it doesn't change what we are to each other. It's like there's always been a piece of my soul missing, and it's inside you, Clary. I know I told you once that whether God exists or not, we're on our own. But when I'm with you, I'm not.”

“There are some people—people the universe seems to have singled out for special destinies. Special favors and special torments. God knows we're all drawn toward what's beautiful and broken; I have been, but some people cannot be fixed. Or if they can be; its only by love and sacrifice so great that it destroys the giver.”

Charlaine Harris: DEAD EVER AFTER (The Final Book of Southern Vampire Mysteries)

DEAD EVER AFTER is the last book in The Southern Vampire Mysteries Series written by American author Charlaine Harris. I have read all 12 previous books so it was only logical that I should read the final chapter of Sookie Stackhouse's story.

I have to be honest. I used to love these books! Used to is the right wording.  I got lost in them. And who wouldn't?!? These books are the reason why Alan Ball and HBO brought on our TV screens the sexiest  TV show ever - TRUE BLOOD.

But something has changed in the 12th book - DEADLOCKED and the books and the story itself went down the hill. Actually, as you all know, it was painful for me to read the twelfth book. I have vented my anger in one of the posts on this blog. But I got through it and decided to give the last, final book a chance. But then some german girl had to screw us all over and post the end on the book on amazon and facebook - thank you by the way for destroying the book even more (not that that was possible!)!

I have to say I was not looking forward to reading the book, neither writing a review and my thoughts about it. The reason is simple. I am angry! Very angry! Charlaine Harris messed up! BIG STYLE!! But I have swallowed my pride, bought the book and started to read it.

I got through the first nine chapters and then simply gave up. The book is awful! The story is boring and long-widing. And it doesn't make sense! It left me depressed and even more angry. What the hell? What has happened to the story I fell in love so much?

Everything seems so rushed to me. The writing is terrible. To me Ms Harris run out of ideas and decided to just write it as fast as she could regardless if it is good or not.. Regardless if she would make her readers satisfied or left just pure angry like myself. She just wanted to be done with it and get her cheque. (Not that she deserves it. If I could I would return this book and ask her to pay me for reading the nine chapters.)

The characters we grew to love (now I am thinking about ERIC, even Bill) just disappeared and were only in the background of the story. The love story between Eric and Sookie we all shipped for just died. 12 books of persuading us that them two belong together didn't mean anything to Ms Harris. I feel cheated. Why did you left us in hope that them two will sort out their problems and find their way back together? Why did you write 12 books where clearly them two belonged together? And now? Now you sent Eric to Oklahoma to marry the Queen of Oklahoma for 200 years and Sookie ended up with shapeshifter Sam because of some magic Cluviel Dor !!!

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO ... Just NO!! It's all wrong!

Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman

I have read some reviews online to see what other fans of the book series thought about the most anticipated book of the year (well at least for the fans of the series!). And unfortunately I must say that they have been of the same opinion. I think I have never read so many bad reviews on amazon as I read for this book. One particular stuck on my mind. The author of the review said: Yes, it is a story of Charlaine Harris. She is the author and she can do anything she wants with the story. But we are the readers! And as the readers we don't need to read so much crap as is in this book. We shouldn't feel cheated! And we are not obliged to buy this awful book either. And it is so true.

ERIC & SOOKIE <3

I will not finish reading this book as it actually pains me to continue reading it. It fills me up with sadness because I personally think that Sookie deserved a better ending. And Eric should have been the one she should have ended up with. If Ms Harris put more effort in writing this book, she could come up with some great ideas how to make them two be together!

So the first time ever I have to say: "Don't buy this book unless you are prepared for the disappointment. If you are fans of the series, just stick to reading the first 11 books, because the last 2 books will leave you unsatisfied, angry and helpless that you can't change the ending."
