FEBRUARY Book Bonanza

February... The month of L.O.V.E. and my least favourite, absolutely over-rated and extremely blown to proportions - Valentine's Day. I will be honest, I have never liked this day ( and no! It's not because I am angry and single.) I just don't get the idea of celebrating LOVE you share with someone special by purchasing an expensive box of chocolates and flowers. If the guy would really love me, he would get me flowers just because he wants anytime of the year...

Never the less, I have decided to theme this month's book bonanza to the wonderful love stories out there! And I have some good ones for you, you will be treated well.

FEBRUARY BOOK BONANZA

THE BRAND NEW ONES.....

REQUIEM by Lauren Oliver

"Can the truth set you free?"

Is is the rule of the Wilds.
You must be bigger, and stronger, and tougher.
A coldness radiates through me, a solid wall that is growing, piece by piece, in my chest. He doesn't love me.
He never loved me.
It was all a lie.
'The old Lena is dead.' I say, and then push past him. Each step is more difficult than the last, the heaviness fills me and turns my limbs to stone.
You must hurt, or be hurt.

Lena can build the walls, but what if there's no one left to take them down?
The powerful, heartbreaking conclusion to one of the most eagerly awaited and talked-about series is here.

PANDEMONIUM by Lauren Oliver

"Life can change in an instant."

Unflinching, heartbreaking and totally addictive, this novel will push your emotions to the limit.
Lena's been to the very edge. She's questioned love and the life-changing and agonising choices that come with it.

She's made her decision. But can she survive the consequences?
Pandemonium is the explosive sequel to the critically acclaimed and bestselling Delirium.

THE SPECTACULAR NOW by Tim Tharp

Sutter's the guy you want at your party. He'll get everyone dancing. He'll get everyone in your parents' pool. He has no plans for university and will probably end up folding men's shirts for a living. But right now life's pretty fabuloso.

Until he meets Aimee. Aimee's clueless. Aimee is a social disaster. Aimee needs help. It's up to Sutter to show her a splendiferous time and then let her go.

But Aimee's not like other girls and before long he's in way over his head. For the first time in his life, he has the power to make a difference in someone else's life - or ruin it forever.

FANGIRL by Rainbow Rowell

Cath and Wren are identical twins and until recently they did absolutely everything together. Now they're off to university and Wren's decided she doesn't want to be one half of a pair any more - she wants to dance, meet boys, go to parties and let loose. It's not so easy for Cath. She would rather bury herself in the fan fiction, she writes where there's romance far more intense than anything she's experienced in real life.

Now Cath has to decide  whether she's ready to open her heart to new people and new experiences, and she's realising that there's more to learn about love than she ever thought possible.

THE EDGE OF ALWAYS by J. A. Redmerski

Camryn Bennett and Andrew Parish wanted a life less ordinary - and together, against the world, it's only getting better. But out of the blue, their perfect life together is rocket by tragedy.

Struggling to cope with a different future, Andrew soon realises that Camryn is hiding a world of pain. Desperate to bring her back to life, Andrew is sure that if they can get on the road again, everything will fall into place. If only he can convince Camryn their love is worth fighting for.

LOOKING FOR ALASKA by John Green

Alaska Young. Gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, screwed up - and utterly fascinating. Miles Halter could not be more in love with her. But when tragedy strikes, Miles discovers the value and the pain of living and loving unconditionally.
Nothing will ever be the same...

AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES by John Green

19 Katherines and counting...
When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton's type is girls named Katherine. And when it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact.

On a road trip miles from home, this anagram-happy, washed-up child prodigy has ten thousand dollars in his pocket, a blood-thirsty feral hog on his trail, and an overweight Judge Judy-loving best friend riding shotgun - but no Katherines. Colin is on a mission to prove The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability, which he hopes will predict the future of any relationship, avenge Dumpees everywhere, and finally win him the girl.

FALLEN IN LOVE by Lauren Kate

True love never says goodbye...

Unexpected. Unrequited. Forbidden. Eternal. Everyone has their own love story. And in a twist of fate, four extraordinary love stories intersect over the course of romantic Valentine's Day in medieval England.

THE HAND ME DOWN ONES...

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME by Sarra Manning

Sweet, bookish Neve Slater always plays by the rules.
And the rule is that good-natured fat girls like her don't get guys like gorgeous William, heir to Neve's heart since university. So she's not that interested in other men. Until her sister Celia points out that if Neve wants. Until sister Celia points out that if Neve wants William to think she's an experienced love-goddess and not the fumbling, awkward girl he left behind, then she's better get some, well, experience.

What Neve needs is someone to show her the ropes, someone like Celia's colleague Max. Wicked, shallow, sexy Max. And since he's such a man-slut, and so not Neve's type, she certainly won't fall for him. Because William is the man for her... right?

  1. Oh yeah, I forgot that it's the love month. Most book haul that I have this month are dystopia.. Oh well, all YA has romance in it so I guess it still counts.
